1979 Lincoln Continental Parade Car (4-door convertible)
1979 Lincoln Continental Parade Car Description
We built this beautiful parade car out of a near mint '79 Lincoln Continental Town Car.
It does not have a convertible top. It is strictly a parade car.
It does have a beautiful padded boot for someone to sit on in your favorite 4th of July, Memorial Day, or Christmas parade.
We cut the top off. It was an original moonroof-equipped car. We did not need to reinforce the frame. It is Stout from the factory. We did, however, have to reinforce the B-pillars (front doors are hinged from them) and make a grab bar that connects them to add structural integrity and allow the doors to close properly.
The woodgrain was installed professionally and harmonizes beautifully with the ice blue paint and French blue leather interior .
The car itself has a little more than 47K original miles on it! Rust free. New tires. New dual exhaust. New fuel tank. Rebuilt carburetor. New distributor, plugs, and plug wires. She runs and drives beautifully and will cruise down the highway like two sofas floating in midair.
AC works and was converted to R134 (did it before cutting the top off) but you have no top, so....
AM/FM 8-track quadraphonic stereo has new front speakers. Needs power antenna mast replaced, however. Also have original CB radio handset but it doesn't work. Cruise control doesn't work. Everything else does work and work well.
Has owner's manual, spare, Jack, everything is there.
This is a fantastic car. Where else can you find a 6-passenger, topless, 4-door American car with only 47K miles? You can't for what I will sell this one for .
Low reserve. Don't need to sell but I will if I get my price .
