1922 Lincoln Model L Five Passenger Phaeton Deluxe Chassis No. 5075, Engine No. 5212. Most likely the most desirable of all Leland Lincoln Body Styles.
This automobile, produced prior to Ford's acquisition of Lincoln, is rare and sought after and is high quality in all respects with the design and look advanced for the period. The desirable Five Passenger Phaeton is an excellent example of a Leland-era Lincoln. It has the distinctive headlights and hubcaps as well as the grille shell that differentiated Lelands from the Ford Lincolns. Noted for their good performance - steering is light and precise and the brakes are very good - the motor is smooth and powerful and easily propels the car to modern highway speed. This automobile maintains a strong following for touring because of its performance.
Excellent older restoration of what must have been an excellent car in 1922, having had one owner over its 96 years. Full body restoration in 1974, costing over $8,000. Original dark blue paint changed to light green. The upholstery is in very good condition, as is the woodwork in the rear passenger compartment. Original side curtains. Parade boot.
Owner has preserved the original Bill of Sale dated 1922, service and restoration records and reference material.
