1987 Lincoln Town Car Base
1987 Lincoln Town Car Base Description
For sale is my 1987 Lincoln Town Car with 73,000 original miles. It is in immaculate condition and I am the second owner. I purchased this car from my fifth grade teacher's estate sale four years ago.
When I purchased the car from the estate sale, the auctioneers insisted that the car had 166,000 on it instead of 66,000 due to the age and the oil leak. I know for sure that the car only had 66,000 as my teacher had about sixteen classic cars in his barn that he barely drove. When you see it, you'll be able to tell that it is only 73,000 original miles.
There is an accident listed on the vehicle in 2015. I was rear-ended while at a stop. A truck hit the car behind me and that car hit me. Their new Toyota was totaled, the Lincoln had a little dent put in the car bumper. It was repaired for $300 and the insurance company covered the costs.
Since purchasing the vehicle, I had the brakes and rotors replaced along with the front wheel bearings (they are part of the front rotors). There are new Firestone white wall tires on the car and two rear metal studded white wall snow tires in the trunk which will be included in the sale.
The sound system has been updated with Sony speakers and a Pioneer Head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. My teacher added keyless entry that unlocks the doors and opens the trunk with a key fob.
The heater core was replaced and the AC was tuned up. The AC requires a charge of 134a each season for about $100. The heat blows nice and hot. All of the vacuum lines for the climate control under the dash were repaired.
The transmission was rebuilt in 2014 upon purchase. The entire car had a tune up in 2015 and in 2016 all of the engine gaskets were replaced from their cork originals to synthetic materials. It does not leak at all now. The rear differential has been serviced as well as new tie rods and control arms. Oil has been changed every 2500 miles and the tires has been rotated every 3,000.
The car has an all new exhaust system and two new catalytic converters.
The blue/silver paint was an upgrade from the factory. The blue roadster top was replaced a few years before I acquired the car. The blue plush power and manual seats work as they should as well as all four power windows. It is PA inspected until August of 2019.
I hate to sell this car... especially due to its sentimental value... however, I am getting married and starting a new job and we need the funds. Plus, I'm always looking for a project!
I probably have over $10,000 in the car with all the proper records to prove it. Please do not hesitate to come see the car and take it for a spin. It's beautiful. $7,199 OBO.
