1979 Lincoln Continental 4dr town car
1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car Package Description
I am the third owner of this low-mileage car. It was garaged its entire life, except for the short time it was for sale (by the second owner) until I purchased it. The car is all original, including the interior and exterior, with the exception of the installation of a new stereo/cd player and speakers. The original stereo 8-track and speakers are in the 21.2 cubic foot trunk. In addition to trunk space, the car has a full-sized spare tire. This Lincoln is in great shape. The power windows, locks and seats all work. The hide-away headlight covers still work properly. The AC blows cold. The compressor has been updated and the fuel tank was removed and sandblasted. The headliner and and dash are in great shape. Also comes with a custom made all-weather car cover. It rides like a dream.
As far as negatives go, the new stereo needs to be rewired because it has stopped working despite changing the fuse. There is a small cigarette burn in the front seat, about the size of a dime. There is some rust on the front bumper. There are some small tears and discoloration around the base of the hard top cover. One of the recessed, rear interior lights is missing a cover. There are scratches on the wood panels of the doors. All known defects are pictured in this listing.
Please note that this car is over 19 feet long. It will not fit in most newer garages. (Actual measurement 19' 5"). If you would like any additional information on this car or would like to see more pictures of a specific area, please feel free to email me at any time. I don't have any mechanical expertise, but have owned the car for over 10 years and am happy to answer any questions you have.
