Stunning 1959 Lincoln Continental Convertible
1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Description
It’s time to sell my 1959 Lincoln Mark IV Convertible. I purchased this car in February 2017 with a nearly complete cosmetic restoration. The chrome had been redone, the paint was new, as was the top. I drove and enjoyed the car that summer, but decided to finish the cosmetic restoration this past winter. In order to do this correctly, it was necessary to pull the engine and transmission. The engine bay and underneath side of the hood had not been painted and while the motor was strong, it did smoke. I had the motor and transmission professionally rebuilt and have the documentation. As part of the engine rebuild, I had the correct pistons manufactured at Ross Racing Pistons and I have that build card. All of the convertible top components work perfectly. I also had all of the seats reupholstered with new foam and the door card re-dyed. I also had the upholstery shop redo the trunk. The suspension, rear end, exhaust system, and brakes were all rebuilt or replaced in 2016. There are a few small, simple things to be looked at. The clock, radio, and rear breezeway window do no operate. Might be fuses or relay. The six way power seat moves forward and back and the motor runs in the up/down and tilt position, but does not move. The right rear window motor runs, but the window has stopped moving. The gas gauge works, but does not register correctly. The sending unit is new, but needs adjusted. I just replaced the window wiper motor with an electric model, but have not hooked it up yet. I have many extra parts, including freshly chromed trim parts. I also just purchased a new $400.00 gauge cluster cover. The car is absolutely beautiful and very rare. They only built 2195 of these beauties and only 29 or so are still known to exist. Please message me with any questions regarding the condition or history of the car.
