1967 Lincoln Continental convertible rust free restoration almost complete
1967 Lincoln Continental Description
1967 Lincoln Continental 4 door convertible. Gentleman was restoring over a 25 year period, he passed, and I acquired car. He only drove it once. First two pictures show it coming out of storage, and yes that's a tow strap, it wasn't running.I knocked on gas tank, sounded empty, put in fresh gas, started it up, ran fine, next day old gas had gummed up valves and bent pushrods. Total rebuild of engine top end, new radiator core, cleaned heater core, cleaned and coated gas tank, rebuilt fuel pump (three port) and carburetor, new tires, new exhaust system, well over $6000 spent on car in last 2 years. Paint is older but nice, appears never to have been buffed out. One small hicky on right rear quarter, otherwise super straight sheet metal. A while back Cashman did electrics, I had Brewer rebuild all window switches. Top and windows work fine. Have new convertible top, have back glass, not installed. Car runs and drives fine, has a small leak from transmission (I guess seal, from sitting up so long), otherwise mechanically excellent. Has A/C but haven't done anything with it so probably needs charge. Vinyl/cloth interior, new and nice but he didn't do leather.A very, very good car that needs a little more work to be very special.
