This magnificent 1979 Lincoln Continental Collector's Series represents a rare car to find in any condition, et alone with most, f not all of its original white lacquer finish (paint thickness meter reads a very low uniform level throughout, riple coach stripe is original) and an absolutely original blue interior. It left Wixom in June of 1979 and was sold new in Eastern Pennsylvania to a beverage distributor between Allentown and Wilkes-Barre. While it was Ziebarted new, hey must have kept it surgically clean or never driven it in winter, s I have seen 1970s-era Lincolns with more rust in Arizona than this car exhibits.

Every panel is straight save the odd door ding here and there, ew of them broke the paint, here are a few careful touch-ups here and there as well. This car has a massive number of original yellow inspectors stamps on it throughout, ictures of these come later. I don't think I've ever seen a Ford product signed off on by so many!

The car retains its original dark blue inset turbine light alloy wheels wrapped in new whitewall radials that we just fitted last fall. I have put about 700 miles on the car while sorting it out including a fair amount of highway time - absolute "carvana" cruising down the interstate with one finger on the wheel...

Every piece of trim moulding, oor edge guard, hrome, tainless and anodized aluminum is present and in excellent shape. The rubber mouldings down the sides and wrapping around the bumpers are also amazing.

The tail panel (over the reverse lamps) is like the day it was new. Front and rear parking light surrounds are pit free, ery rare to find any that aren't all pitted as the diecast metal was not that great!

These are gorgeous cars with real presence!

I like shooting cars down at the marina, ut this land yacht really belongs here! Wait, hat does that little sticker say?

Ah, hat explains everything. We concur!

Even the opera lamps on both B pillars as well as the illuminated entry lights (front key holes) work as they should!

Only the Collector's Series Continentals had the gold grille insert!

The headlight doors open and close well (and stay closed for a week or more, hich is pretty much as-new)

The little black box in the left hand headlamp is for the automatic headlamp dimming, he automatic on/off (twilight sentinel) is in the dash. The Collector's Series Continentals were usually more opulent than the Town Car (which was an option package, ot a model, n these days).

The elk grain vinyl roof has extra padding on a Collector's Series

The power antenna works flawlessly. Note the original coachstripe which is correct to a Collector's Series and intact on both sides!

This era Lincoln has the best seats - they are soft, et very supportive. I just refoamed the driver's seat base as it was sagging to the outside. Springs were fine. All power adjustments work well on both sides, assenger's side has a manual recliner.

The steering wheel and dash are crack-free. Note the headlight options!

This original Lincoln key was under the driver's seat when I pulled it out to work on it. There are two sets of keys, runk keys are both generic Ford blanks of the era.

Yes, he mileage is 97,643 in the picture, few more since I drove back to the shop. Hard to believe - but really what is hard to believe is that cars that show more wear are claimed to have 30,000 or so miles on eBay regularly. I prefer cars with some regular use and good service - and that's exactly what this is - an immaculate 6-7 year old car out of a time warp.

Climate control works well, ir conditioning was just recharged, ew compressor and dryer just fitted. CB radio works, lock keeps good time and of course the AM/FM 8-track Quadraphonic works ...

Tilt column is nice as is the perfect working cruise control.

Hard to see here but the dash is crack free!

The original Carlite windshield has a small rock chip and a very slight star out of line of sight low on the driver's side. I'd have replaced it, xcept that it's the original windshield and we had the crack filled - it hasn't grown and hopefully it won't. As you can see here, he dash is immaculate.

In the glove compartment, he original Collector's Series owners manual pouch!

Original owners manual, wner's card and CB radio stuff. Yes, lso the courtesy trash bag that hung from the cigarette lighter on delivery....

More of the same, uper plush comfort!

Carpets throughout are super plush and thick. The driver's mat is missing a little fuzz in places but it saved the underlying rugs.

Gorgeous velour was just shampooed and is lovely to the touch.

Driver door panel and armrest shows nearly no wear at all. All switches work as they should. Driver door mirror is heated with the rear defog.

The rest of the doors are likewise almost without any perceptible wear. Windows and locks all work as they should. Weatherstripping is supple throughout, ll the little door bumpers and hardware are exactly where they should be. No rust in the doors, he splits are all crisp as there's no bondo or paintwork - anywhere - other than factory applied finish to the best we can tell.

Driver's side visor has the code for the garage door opener and the button. Now just go down to the Ford dealer and get the receiver.... 8-)

Passenger's side visor. Headliner is just this clean throughout, ike a nearly-new car.

Trunk is likewise super clean.

The original tool pouch and Knirps umbrella that came with the Collector's Series Continental, n their proper place in the trunk.

The original Michelin spare might have been down once or twice but still has factory markings on the sidewall.

The Ziebart treatment inside the jack well.

Look at all those approval stamps! If I had one, 'd stamp that I approve too!

Beautiful original alloys and caps with fresh rubber all around!

The 400 cubic inch engine runs well after a carburetor overhaul, lugs, ires, ilters and fluids throughout engine and transmission. We replaced the AC compressor, ryer, xpansion valve and did a full flush. I re-flushed the heater as it wasn't putting out quite enough heat in the extreme cold and it's better now as well. Climate control works as well as they ever did. Additionally as I mentioned earlier, e put four new tires on the car, new fuel tank and sending unit and fixed a few dozen small things from the locks to the clock with much in between. Unlike most eBay sellers of cars like this, here are no real mysteries - I'm very picky when I sort through a car that I like. I've put several hundred miles on this car and I haven't noticed the engine or drivetrain leak or burn any fluids, t starts and runs ably and the transmission shifts like new.

Just a collection of yellow factory stamps all over the engine compartment... wonder if this was the very last Collector's?

This sticker reads 93,524 in May of 1991. When we got the car, t still had a 2001 inspection sticker on it. Maybe it got used a little in between, ut not much!

Note the June build date on the VIN sticker and the August 1, 979 delivery date on the Owner's Card above. This is a very late example.

The original underhood cowl tag, enoting the codes on the VIN sticker and a bit more.

The original press release for the 1979 Continental, own Car, illiamsburg Series and Collector's Series cars. Pictured is a 9D White Town Car, ote the oval opera windows.

Don't let this one get away if you've been looking for *the* white Collector's Series Continental to add to your collection! This one is worth it. Fly in and drive home, r we'll get it to you, ust ask.

payment/shipping

This Collector's Series is being sold by a licensed and bonded dealer of fine used automobiles located in Augusta (where this car is) and Savannah, eorgia. Please understand that this is an unusual 36 year old vintage car hand-built by men and not gods - and is thus sold as-is, here-is with no implied or stated warranty or guarantee; please be realistic about your expectations (i.e., f you expect it to be a new Lincoln, ou might want to save up a lot more money and then put up with lots more plastic, lectronics headaches et.c.). As stated above in the listing, e have made a significant effort over the last few months to correct issues that we found with the car - and with said effort now believe it to be in extremely good health based on many years of experience with other sports, lassic and unusual cars of all types over many years.

Full payment is due within seven days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. Your winning bid is a contract to buy, ot just to look or for first right of refusal; the only reason your contract would be null and void is if it was found that we willingly misrepresented the car in the above description. If you feel you need to inspect the car prior to purchase, lease arrange and have this inspection done prior to placing a successful bid, e welcome your visit. Accepted forms of payment include a cleared certified cheque or wire transfer in the dealership's bank account, r cash in person on pickup (no cash via the mail, Bay!). We require that paperwork be completed prior to or at the time of pickup (should you do this in person) or filed back with us if done remotely. We do not charge any tax to out of state buyers as this is something you handle at the DMV or, aturally, ther dealers in all 50 states.

Shipping or pickup must occur within fourteen days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. We are happy to refer you to one of the high-quality open or enclosed collector car shipping companies that we use frequently in the normal course of business - and we cannot stress enough the importance of using such a carrier and not a random transport broker or carrier you might find online, articularly as this is a unique Lincoln in great condition. For international buyers, e can carry the car to the port of Savannah at no charge or to other ports for a nominal fee, hough shipping beyond the U.S. border must be entirely arranged for and paid by you. Please contact us if you need any assistance with logistics and we'll be happy to help.

We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early at any time during the course of the sale should a sale occur outside of eBay as the car has been offered quietly through other channels over the past couple of weeks. We typically do not do this at all and only when full payment has been received from such a buyer will the auction be pulled.

Any legal action associated with this sale from either the buyer or the seller is to take place in the State of Georgia in the Chatham County Courthouse. The bidder/buyer further agrees that any legal action will be heard in Chatham County in the State of Georgia. All legal actions associated with this auction/sale will be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and buyer agrees to be responsible for all legal costs including, ut not limited to, ourt costs, xpenses, ttorney fees, ost of process service, nd all other costs associated with the normal course of business.QUESTIONS?
