1966 Lotus 23 B/C Description

Continuing on from the superb work of Henry Tombs in recreating the Lotus Type 23 sports racer and making the Xanthos 23 a true reproduction, Kelvin Jones Motorsport built this Lotus Type 23 with a chassis provided by Arch Motors & Manufacturing, UK. The wheels are magnesium wobbliesand the rear uprights are magnesium as well. This is as close to the genuine article as you can get. It really is much more than a replica. You have a UK log book from 1966, you have a late chassis from the original manufacturer, you have a rebuilt MK 8 transmission from PDS Engineering UK using MK 5 gears, you have a CraigBeck engine from the UK and best of all this was put together by a Lotus specialist - Kelvin Jones. The 23 even has the wonky "emergency brake". There are two setups one for racing with one seat and one with two seats with the rollbar brace removed. The car has high and low beams with the required rain light. It is a "C" chassis with a "B" body.
The transaxle is a 5 speed with limited slip and a 8:31 final drive, present gearing has a top speed of 150 mph at 8000. There are nine gear sets and additional miscellaneous transmission parts. The engine is a new block and new big valve head as per FIA 23B, new steel crank, new steel rods, new pistons, single competition clutchand all is balanced. New 45 152 DCOE Webers. 185 bhp at 7850 rev to 9000. I have lots of documentation that can be put on a CD or usb memory. There is a FIA approved fire system installed last October along with new racing harness. The car has never been raced. Only run at 4 car shows and on the Dyno to check the engine output. However, I do run the engine and check the brakes and clutch once a month. The car has won multiple awards at car shows in Florida.
Spares are the gear set as previously mentioned and a complete set of spare rims that have been ordered and paid for, just waiting on delivery. Additional pictures available.
There is a 2016 custom trailer with fire extinguisher, shop lights, a 115v 60 amp circuit breaker box and a 2000 lb winch. The trailer is available with or without the car.
