1972 Lotus Europa TWIN CAM BIG VALVE. 4-SPEED. WEBER HEAD AND CARBS Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very decent Europa Twin Cam needing some front chassis repair. This car was a good running and driving car with a previously rebuilt, healthy Weber head engine, until the chassis failed up front, which now needs repair. The body on this car looks quite good save for some light damage to the LH trunk lid area (pictured). Paintwork is older but is still reasonably attractive for a driver. The interior trim is quite decent and definitely nice and usable for a driver. Please read the following from the previous owner for more detailed information:This Europa has had over $3000 in new parts and service in the last two years including:New tires,Muffler,Brake master rebuild dual circuit girling,New brake lines,One piece performance Header, pipe and tail,Clutch cable and bracket,Distributor, mech advance Twin cam Pertronix ignitor II,Ignition wire set,Coil and bracket,Brake shoe and caliper kit,Newer battery,New arms and wipers. The engine was rebuilt at one time and new race head and Weber bell race carbsThis 72 Lotus runs and stops, but some repair needs to be done to the frame, which is common on all the light weight Lotus frames. I have done a temporary weld patch to the driver’s side front box, but more work need to be done. The suspension should all be gone through and rebuilt and new bushings and any frame rust repaired properly and treated. The car should not be driven as is until that work is done. Many restorers put in new frames, but I think you can repair this frame on the lift. It’s a good car, but all Europa’s of this age need to have this work done and this Europa is no different and has not had that frame work done yet. This Europa has been fitted with Weber race carbs and intake along with what appears to be a more aggressive head and cams. This engine because of those improvements will produce more HP than stock. The original color code is L12, indicating Lagoon Blue. The interior is a bit worn and needs lifted and the driver’s seat has a some splits. Driver side also has a race harness . As noted above $3000 in parts and service has already been sorted on this Europa.VIDEO LINK OF ENGINE RUNNING:https://youtu.be/kiCQD4ue5qwPlease look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. We will assist in shipping worldwide.
