1960 Maserati 450S Recreation Description

The Maserati 450S was the fastest race car of its Time also named Tipo 54.In early 1956, Tony Parravano, a wealthy American housing developer, commissioned Maserati to build a new large-bore V8 engine for use in a Kurtis Indy chassis. This prompted Maserati to start working on the Tipo 54 project once again. A350Schassis numbered 3501 was selected for testing the new engine and was elongated in order to accommodate the engine.Valerio Colottidesigned the tubular frame for the chassis. The independent front suspension with double wishbones and coil-springs were retained but a much reinforced de Dion rear-end, based around a new five-speed transaxle were added. This transaxle was mounted ahead of the de Dion tube and the gearbox section was extended ahead of the final-drive instead of being integrated on the right-hand side. The drum brakes were borrowed from a300Swith improved cooling. The car had an open top body designed byMedardo Fantuzziresembling the 300S. ( Wikipedia)
Divers as Caroll Shelby, Sterling Moss and Fangio has been driven the car to Victory from 1957 to 1959.9 Cars has been developed and all look a bit different to eachother. All Original Cars are right hand drive so as also this fantastic recreation that is on sale here.
The Recreation that i sell here is a full aluminum car with a tubeframe. The car uses a Maserai 4.9L engine, 42 Werber carbs, 5 speed gearbox and is with that combination a canonball on todays streets. The 450s recreation stands on Borrani Type Wheels made by Turrino in the UK, new tires and is ready to drive.The leather is a used Tan leather. To update the car to general traffic it is fitted with Diskbrakes all arround. Aluminum Tank, Jaeger gauges, Maserati switches, modern electric.With the weight of 800 Kg and an the Horesepower that the car has it is definatly one of the fastest classic cars that you can buy. It really needs passion to drive it.The sound of the car is amazing and you will find on youtube a Video that i have posted of the car. The car is in dark blue and it is a original Maserati color.
The Body has been made by Hand on the english wheel and all is documentated. The cars is registered as Historic car in germany and therfore no problem to export the car to foreign countrys incl. local registration. I can also assist by exporting the car to the USA if wished.
