1979 Mazda RX-7 Description

1979 Mazda RX-7 SA22C Series 1 Up for your consideration is a very well preserved example of one of the first RX7s to land on our shores. This car has all the variables to become a valuable vintage sports car....... 6664 Series 1 SAs were built and of those, aprox. 80% were exported to the US. Even fewer with the GS package (which this car has most of those options) which includes front and rear anti rollbars, 5 spd manual transmission, with limited slip differential, remote engine oil cooler, removable moonroof, A/C, Alloy wheels, power antenna, and rear window louvers.

Everything that came new with this car is still with it e.g. All documentation, dealer agreement, manuals, log book, steel sunroof insert/with bag, original alloy wheel spare tire, am/fm radio w/power antenna, with the exception of the dealer installed bra that i just removed for the fist time in 36 years. The bra had shrunk and was not fitting well anymore and frankly did not look good on the car. I have not yet removed the two headlight covers.

the car runs and drives well and to the best of my knowledge has no real issues other than some bodywork which I will explain below. I just did a minor tune up of points condensers, rotor, spark plugs, and fuel system treatment. There is no rust on this car anywhere even the under carriage. It has been a Nevada car it's whole life and had been well loved and maintained and it shows with the immaculate interior and engine bay.

The good things about this car far outweigh the bad..... but as with any 36 year old car, there are going to be some issues. I am disclosing everything I know about this car which I haven't owned for very long. I am the fourth owner and bought the car in hopes of giving it the attention it deserves. I had aspirations of straightening out the body and having it repainted the original Canary Yellow. If the car doesn't sell, I will most likely do that. parts of the car have been resprayed and I'm not sure why. Carfax has no history of this car and it has only one significant dent on the passenger side quarter. there are sever small dings, most not noticeable.I f you're a good body and paint person or willing to spend the money for a proper paint job then this is the perfect candidate and investment. Other known issues.... the door handle trim rings are oxidized and falling apart, the driver window rolls up and down hard, passenger window has some scratches, the AC works but needs a recharge. I am not trying to get rich on this car but I am struggling with selling it because it's a real survivor car and will certainly increase in value.

I have done my best to describe this car but if you have any questions please feel free to contact me so that you can bid with confidence. This vehicle is being sold "As is, Where is" and no warranty is expressed nor implied. I will except Paypal, Cashiers check, or cash. 25% of the final sale price will be due within 48 hrs of closing and the balance due within one week of closing. I will assist in shipping the car but prefer that it be picked up at my location.
