1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata Convertible w/ Hardtop Description

1992 Mazda Miata MX-5 Convertible with Hardtop
Bad
Noise in engine (car is still running and diving but I don't trust it) replacement engine $350 on craigslist
Small rust spot on lower rear quarter (Included with sale is replacement quarter panel)
Interior is tired and needs to be cleaned up, Door panels need redoing.
Right front fender has a small bend in front
Needs belt line molding replaced ($70)
Top was cut but it has been sealed and should be replaced but doesn't leak
Hard top needs some edge work and new door seals
Paint has chips and scrapes and is tired
Good
Car is mostly original without modifications (except steering wheel (have original) K&N filter, and paint on rims)
Comes with optional hardtop that does need work and paint but is valued between 500 and 1200 by itself
Includes new shocks and top hats that need installed
Includes new halogen headlight conversion kit that needs installed
Tires replaced 2,000 miles ago
new radiator 4 years ago
the motor had the water pump and timing belt was done at 102,000 miles
the car only has 132,787 original miles
Hagerty values this car in fair condition at $2300 without the additional hardtop. The perfect candidate for mild restoration work or to turn into the weekend autocross or racer.
This was my summer driving car and was not driven in winter the entire time I owned it since 2007. It has always been a fun reliable car that puts a smile on your face and the cost of ownership is very affordable. Put a new engine and a little bit of work and this car will jump up the value later quickly.
