1994 Mazda Protege Description

For sale is my little project Rally Cross car. It is finished now, so I am on to another project. This car lived a gentle life, as the interior and paint are both original, and look very nice. The car has a 105 horsepower 1.8L SOHC port-injectedmotor, similar to the Mazda Miata Engine and it runs absolutely fantastic! Next to the engine is a Getrag 5 speed manual transmission. Within the past 2,000 miles, the car got a new clutch, new flywheel and afull tune up. The car runs and drives perfectly, with no faults. Transmission is smooth. The exhaust does have a cut-out on it that exits by the front passenger-side tire. When the car is "un-capped", it sounds like a racecar, but when it is capped up, the exhaust goes through a full length exhaust with catalytic converters and mufflers and sounds nearly stock and very quiet.
Customthings done to the car:The car is equipped with a hydraulic E-brake as it needs to be swung into corners when racing on dirt.An aftermarket oil pressure gauge was installed.Red and blue stripes have been painted on, but can be lightly sanded and buffed off. The black lettering and numbers on the car are vinyl, and peel off.It comes with a full set of extra wheels and tires. The wheels are the original ones to the car. All four tires match. The wheels and tires on this car are meant for gravel/ dirt. Wheels are 15x7 TSW race wheels. The flywheel was machined to make it lighter.Front struts are from a 2004 Kia Spectra. The struts have 8.5" of travel, where as the stock ones only had 6". It still has a very stock ride quality on the street.
The light bar can be taken off very easily, and was wired nicely with a relay to the highbeam switch. For those of you in salty-road states, this car has zero rust. It has been in Sacramento California its whole life. Paint is very nice, as is the interior and engine bay. It is a very clean car. Not even a spot of rust.30MPG is average for this car and it makes a great candidate for roatrips, too!

The car is a base model, so it has manual windows andmanual locks. Power steering and power brakes are equipped. The heater works very good, however the AC could use a charge, as it blows almost cool. The carcould use a passenger side CV axle, as it makes noise on heavy acceleration. It does have a salvage title, and I believe its dueto the small dent on the roof, beingthat the car wears all original paint and no repaired damage is present.
This machine runs smooth, has zero issues on being a daily driver. No leaks, no smoke, no issues at all. It drives good, both on road and offroad. Hop in, turn the key, and have a blast! This RallyCrosscar shouldfit in with the "Stock class" on most RallyCross events.
