1979 Mazda RX-7 Description

This is a 1979 Mazda RX7.Base model 5 spee, no power gadgets. I got it in a package deal with some other cars. I have no direct history on it. Other than it is a one woman previous owner from new with her log book from day one showing mpg thru the years.Original dealer handbooks,manuals,brochures. Looks like she bought it new in Michigan then in Texas and now has a Wisconsin title. So while not a completely rustfree car, it is not bad. She had classic car plates on it and looked like she babied it thru the years. And also had it stored indoors and it did not see much winter driving. The car has been repainted once the original factory silver. Has some clearcoat loss and some paint loss in areas. Some rust bubbling here and there. Tried to show rear wheel well lip bubbles. The dogleg areas on both sides show slight rust at the corners of rear wheelwells and bottom rear door areas. Some rust in the floorboards but not bad at all. For a Northern car, this would be considered a very,very nice body. The interior is very nice, very clean and very original..The car just turned 100k miles. Barely.I watched it turn from 99,999 to 0 a couple days ago while driving it up the block. It has been off the road and in storage for years before I got it. We drained the fluids,changed the plugs,put a new water pump in, changed the belts and got it up and driving. Kind of. I bought a carb kit rebuild kit but did not install it yet. The carb is running better everyday and may not need it. Though you have to choke it to start. The brakes are not up. Really did not get into that much. May be bleeding, may need new master cylinder. I use the emergency brake and do not drive far. Or fast. Not been hacked up and customized other than repaint. original interior.Nice bumpers,good glass.And so on. This will make a great wintertime project to get out on the road by summer. These early first year RX7s are getting harder to find that have not been played with. Especially one owner 5 speed original ones like this. Stock base model.. No power windows to crap up, no sunroof to leak, in fact no AC to fuss with. This will be a great platform to work with. Stay bone stock like this,build a road rocket or anything in between.I travel around the West Coast with my truck and trailer and might be able to get it to you or close. And can arrange trucking to Long Beach California shippers for overseas buyers for $300. Clean straight title.
