1990 Mazda Miata – LOW MILES
This well preserved classic is from Mazda’s first year of production. It has lived its entire life on California’s Central Coast. Rust free, accident free. Always adult owned and entirely stock with the exception of the Pioneer CD player and upgraded door and headrest speakers. Excellent overall mechanical condition, recent new battery, fuel pump and filter, injector seals, tune up, catalytic converter, shifter boots, clutch slave cylinder and more. Timing belt components replaced at 68,160 miles. Engine, transmission and differential oil have just been changed. Valid smog certificate.
Cosmetically, you will look hard to find a nicer example of these early Miatas. It does have the typical flaws you would expect from a car this age, such as a few door dings and minor paint flaws, small paint touch-ups, very minor carpet wear. All VIN stickers match. The convertible top is in good condition with no leaks or tears. Working zippered rear window is not perfect but has good flexibility and visibility, not yellowed. Cloth seats are in excellent condition with no evidence of wear. It is a nice daily driver, not a show car.
Accessories include a Dash Cover (not installed), Interior Cockpit Cover, Top Boot and a Window Protector, all in excellent condition. Original owner’s manual, jack, tire wrench and spare with cover as well.
Vehicle is available for pickup in Morro Bay, near San Luis Obispo, CA. Mileage may go up some as the car is driven occasionally.
In the interest of full disclosure:
The car had a failing clear coat on the driver’s side front fender, door and rear quarter. There was no evidence of body repair so I surmise that some minor scratching precipitated the repair. The car has been repainted with a factory match single stage urethane which is such a good match that it cannot be seen in photos or in person. The rear bumper was painted as well to remedy some sticker damage. The rest of the car is original single stage factory paint.
While pulling the interior apart to clean, I discovered the shifter boots were shot. (Typical Miata problem). They were replaced.
The brake pads have over 50% of wear left. The tires (Bridgestone Potenzas – front, Toyo Proxies – rear) have quite a bit of tread left but are old. I would not take a long trip on them. And yes, those really are the original factory steelies that came with the car new.
Windshield has minor scratching from wipers. These are not in the main field of vision. Otherwise it is un-pitted and clear.
Dash has glue residue in a couple of spots from a dash cover. This is hard to see.
