1987 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel *NO RESERVE*

This 1987 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel Sedan is a low mileage example wearing a gold exterior over a burgundy interior. Used primarily as an around town cruiser for the majority of its life it reports only 150k miles since new on the 3.0L Turbo Diesel powertrain.

The exterior of the vehicle is fair. There is evidence of surface rust on the driver’s front wheel well and passenger rear quarter panel as well as around the passenger front jack point. The paint on the hood, trunk and sunroof are in good condition but the remainder of the vehicle shows material clear coat wear with minimal to no luster. A shallow dent can be found on the passenger wheel arch and a few cosmetic blemishes are present on the front and rear bumpers. A small plastic portion of the passenger headlight is not present and a small rock chip can be found on the front windshield.

Structurally, the vehicle is in good condition. The frame and all structural components show minimal signs of rust and corrosion and the factory undercoating is present over the majority of the underside of the body.

The interior is in excellent condition for its age. There are no rips or tears in the seats and show minimal signs of wear. All interior trim and plastic is in good condition. Carpeting is dry and plush and comes with color matching rubber winter floor mats. Wood grain is in good condition showing minimal wear and no lamination or discoloration. Original radio is in working condition. The automatic antenna is operational but the metal sleeve is missing past the resting position. All gauges are operational and are in good working order. The dash is unmolested and complete with no signs of cracks or sun fading.

Mechanically the vehicle is in good condition. The oil and filter have been changed while in our possession as well as renewed glow plugs. The 3.0L Turbo Diesel engine starts without drama and pulls strong in all gears. The brakes are firm and stop the vehicle efficiently. The ABS module has been found to engage the ABS braking operation at low speeds. Steering is accurate and the transmission shifts smoothly into all gears. Engine feels powerful and has exhibited no issues while in our care.

Given the reputation for these bullet-proof Mercedes turbo diesel engines, this low mileage example should have plenty of service life left.
