This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL comes complete with original hood, ardtop and chassis with stamped serial number, and original weld marks inside the engine compartment. Complete with a new factory interior, riginal Becker radio, actory books with owner's name and two factory keys. Confirmed 70,500 original miles from the second owner. Representing Mercedes-Benz's trend towards producing more upscale and practical sports cars, he 280SL was meant to replace the 190SL and the illustrious 300SL. The car is a comfortable 2-seater that is neither too long, or too big. Excellent road handling thanks to the innovative and sophisticated rear suspension design. This car has the original weave carpets and a completely new interior including window sills. The body is straight and solid with great fits and gaps. It was painted years ago to high standards and shows no significant wear or deterioration. The gauges and dashboard are also unrestored and excellent throughout. The visors appear as new and the headliner in the hardtop is in very nice original condition as well as the softtop. The car has only 70,500 original miles and drives beautifully. The undercarriage is innice condition. The suspension and steering are tight. This SL was owned by a lady for the last 26 years who has confirmed the mileage to be only 70,500 miles.
