1979 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Description

Rare imported 1979 Mercedes 280SLC, with A/C and 4 speed auto.
This model has retained European headlights and bumpers as well as non-catalytic 2.8l straight 6.
It has original color matched trunk spoiler and was lowered by 1" from standard by original owner with 225x50x 16" tires on 70's era "AMG" labeled rims on rear (2) and similar alloys on front (plus spare, 3), 16" x 8" rims.
First owner purchased vehicle new in 1979 in Germany, exported it to the US in 1984 and used and cared for it since. I purchased from original owner in beginning of this year, clean title with all import and exemption documents. This car was used and taxed up to Dec 2016 and starts and runs well. I have not taxed it as I purchased car to restore.
There is fender rust on sides that will need patching, the body has minor dings and some bubbling of paint on trunk and near rear window trim. However bottoms of doors and inside underneath carpets has no rust and rest of body is sound. Also as you can see from images the front valence is missing and would need to be replaced.
Dials and gauges are in German, Km/hr etc. This car has 180,000Km (112,000miles) original miles only on the beautiful injected twin cam straight 6.

Buyer to arrange pickup/shipping at their cost. I will assist with any loading or short term storage required.
I appreciate the interest in the car however I am not parting it at the moment although it may be worth more in components. I listed it for people interested in restoring this collectors car or it will be kept in storage until I have time to focus on it as they don't make them anymore.
