1972 Mercedes 280SE 4.5L
Beautiful classic car, blue with black interior, automatic transmission.
Runs good with smooth shifting.
Seats in perfect condition, no tears, cracks or damages.
Carpet is complete, used but in good condition.
Door panels also in good condition.
all doors open, lock and closes but the needs a key to lock and unlock the doors from outside.
56K miles, but for some reason recently the speedometer stop working, and the odometer lights not working. Gas, temp and oil gauge work perfect.
Headlights, tail lights all in working condition.
Turn signals work but when its use for right turn, you have to hold it.
I replaced the valve cover gaskets, original part from Mercedes dealer, will need a tune up, new spark plugs cables and spark plugs.
As you can see, will need a ful paint job with rust repairs, the car was like that when I bought it over a year ago, unfortunately develop some rust around the car and they need to be fix, only 3 or 4 need a good repair,
one in the trunk where the towing hook(check picture), one on the rear left floor, this one clearly caused by wrongly use of a jack.
Rear right corner by the wheel also needs attention.
And some around the car, but they are not way thru rust, just surface rust.
The car got installed by previous owner an aftermarket radio with rear connection for an amp and nice speakers, but they everything was removed before I bought it.
Air conditioning needs to be recharge, blower works fine and the levers to move from hot to cold, they work fine but only one is a little hard to move.
I am describing the car the best possible, not perfect but not much of work to restore it, unless you want it extremely perfect, you'll end it up expending a lot of money, a friend gave me a bid of $3000, but he told me will take a month just to work slow and safe.If you have any questions you can call me at 801-662-8443.
