The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this beautiful 1957 Mercedes Benz 190SL. This car has been the recent recipient of more than $35,000 worth of recent restorative work, and is in stunning near show condition. The paintwork is excellent, and the car is coated with its correct original color Mercedes Light Blue (Hellblau DB344) paint. The paint has wonderful finish and the panels are straight and true. All shut lines are excellent, and the doors close with the traditional mercedes clunk. The interior in stunning Mercedes Benz Blue. The leather seats are buttery soft and excellent. The dash is likewise in wonderful condition, and the gauges look like jewelry. This is the finest driving 190sl we have ever driven. The original numbers matching engine was rebuilt in 2004, and has approximately 5000 miles on it. She runs beautifully with good power and torque. The car takes its drive through a re-built 4-speed manual gearbox; she shifts as smoothly as any we have driven. The blue convertible top is in excellent condition with only minor wear, the top mechanism is refurbished as well, and works as it should. The engine compartment is well detailed, and shows well. The underside of the car is excellent and has benefitted from a recent detailing. The brakes, tires, and suspension are refurbished as well. The car has its original stereo. All of the bright work has been replaced or triple chrome plated. All of the rubber was replaced, as well as the windshield glass. This car drives as well as she looks, and is one of the finest examples on the market. Priced to sell, and needing nothing but an enthusiastic new owner, this car is ready to go.
