1980 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Palomino Description

This is the legendary Mercedes w116 Model 300SD, the last year for the type 116, 1980. The 5-cylinder with regular oil changes turbodiesel has a reputation of lasting forever,and has both pep and good cruising speed. The upholstery has no breaksor observable wear, as you can see from the photos. This isa very low mileage car with almost no wear. The dash appears to have no cracks, and the original paint still shines, but has been touched up on one spot on the fender, and another on the hood. There is a small nick in the RF fender molding where someone must have opened a door into it, and some light scratches on some of the chrome. Most remarkable, however, is that I see no rust anywhere. It has its original literature, including the parts manual. The car is in the range of a number 2 to three condition in the Old Car Value Guide, which lists itsretail price as between $9,000 and $14,000.
