HISTORY
- I am the third owner.
- When I bought the car, I confirmed the odometer works and it read 22,812 miles.
- I bought this car to build for me and selected it because it was complete, had practically no rust and an interior that was in excellent condition and complete. Many items needed to be replaced or refreshed which has been done.
- Based on the overall condition, and conversations with the previous owner, the actual mileage when I purchased it was 122,812.
- The second owner was from Yakima, Washington who garaged the car most of its life. The first owner was from California where the car was originally delivered and sold.
- I put 8,400 miles on the car and the new engine. I managed the engine rebuild and installed it personally.
- The original build sheet from Stuttgart, Germany was obtained from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center.
- All records of previous owners will be provided to the buyer along with a file of receipts documenting a substantial amount of work I have done.
- This car features a W110 chassis and is more commonly known as a "fintail" model. The German name is Heckflosse which means "little fin." Some refer to the model as a Ponton. The 200D model was produced from 1966 to 1968 with approximately 161,618 built.
- The 200D model is beautifully simple. A benefit of the updated engine is, parts are available, cheap and easy to source.
- This was a rolling restoration and my daily driver for the past year. I recently drove it from Venice, California to Madras Oregon for the eclipse and it ran excellent.
