1959 Mercedes 300d Cabriolet D 29,000 Miles One Owner 540K of Future No Reserve
This is the rarest post WWII Mercedes convertible ever made. Only 65 examples were made between 1958 and 1962.
This was the most expensive car in Mercedes lineup and was sold to governments for their presidents, kings, Pope John XXIII had one, and wealthy industrialists.
This particular car body number 13 has been on the estate of a prominent northeast family for many years. It is in excellent original condition having only 29,000 miles. Special clients were allowed to send their cars back to the Mercedes-Benz factory to be restored or reconfigured with special options.
The 300SL Gullwing and Roadster were the only other cars that shared a similar fuel injected 300 motor.
This car has all 5 options offered from factory; the automatic transmission and power steering were delivered on all USA cars, air conditioning was quite rare,and power windows, and 300Sc chrome wheels were unheard of.
This car has had no rust ever and has been kept totally road worthy in the owners stable its entire life.
You will never find a nicer more original example.
