The particulars:

Auction is for Light Baby Blue 1966 Mercedes Benz 250 S 4-door Sedan with Automatic Transmission. Car was purchased used in 1978 and driven daily until approximately 1986 when it was put into inside storage and covered. It was removed from storage and placed outside in April 2013. It was recently examined by a mechanic who verified that the engine is not frozen. However, it has not been driven since about 1987 or 1988 and we assume buyer will want to perform major tune up if not total overhaul. Tires will hold air for transport but do not retain air for long.

Mileage: original miles

VIN: 108 012 12 005520

License: 066 TEN California

Registration: Non Operative (Non Op) and not street legal

Title: Clean; have Pink Slip and legal title. There are no liens.

Body Condition: Body is rust free and in good condition. Chrome is pitted in areas but appears solid overall. Paint is in fair to good condition for a vehicle of this age with original paint but paint does have substantial fading, some cracks and crazing, and a few chips and scratches. The paint, therefore, is NOT perfect, and photos show condition fairly. PLEASE SEE CLOSE UP PHOTO OF PAINT ON BODY!! All of the weather-stripping is also original and is brittle in some places due to age with some cracking. Windshield has California NOX exempt sticker but car was subject to smog testing and passed all tests until parked and not driven. Driver side view mirror has crack. Antenna is missing. Missing hubcaps. Left rear brake light lens is cracked. Car has solid roof: not a convertible.

Interior: Front bucket seats with rear bench seat. Originally blue vinyl but replaced with brown or cordovan colored leather. Significant wear on leather including cracking and ripping in both back and front seat areas. One arm rest is from original blue vinyl as replacement was not available. Dash has been removed but is included in sale. Instruments are all there and were working when car was placed in storage. Floor carpet is original with extra brown carpet mats. Windows are crank style, not electric. Front seats are adjusted manually to several positions, including reclining.

Mechanical: 4 cylinder Automatic. Was running when first parked. Has not been driven in many years, but engine is free. Vehicle passed its last smog test before being placed on Non Op. Brakes and tires do not bind and car can be pushed. Needs complete overhaul, battery and tires. Please see photos of engine for better idea of mechanical condition.

When originally purchased, we did major overhaul and the engine was rebuilt. The engine is not original to the car. All records are included to assist in parts location. Regular maintenance was continued until stored. All maintenance records and registrations are included.

Auxiliary Electric Fan was added to avoid overheating with on/off switch on underside of dash within easy reach of driver.

► Auxiliary water tank was added to prevent overheating, creating closed water system (recycling)

Original Carburetors needed frequent rebuilding and service and were replaced with Dual Weber Carburetors, Type 32/36 DGAV 3B – 03B (with a JAM Engineering Inc. Model MBZ 6DS conversion).
