This is a classic Mercedes 300td diesel station wagon. The 300td wagon is a sought after diesel and with fuel prices so high it is no wonder that people love the fuel economy of this car. The car easily does 750km per tank of diesel.
I have been using this car as a daily driver ever since I owned it and it has never broken down on the side of the road or stalled. The OM603.96 engine that is in this 1987 wagon has been known to accumulate over 700,000km and that is why I believe that this station wagon has years and years of life left in it.
It is a great first car for a young person or for someone who is interested in working on classic cars. Mechanically inclined people will love working on this car, there is tons of space in the engine compartment and everything is very well laid out and easy to work on.
The body of the car is in very good shape even though there are a few rust spots on the car. The metal is very thick and most of the rust can be easily repaired. Even though the car is currently in Quebec Canada it is not a car that is from Quebec so, during the winter months it was not assaulted with salt and harsh winter conditions. The car is originally from Vancouver Island where they do not use salt and it almost never snows. The underside of the car is in great shape.
There are a few items that can be repaired: 1. Driving in slow traffic or up mountain roads the engine does get hot. 2. There is an oil leak coming from the oil filter housing. 3. The self-leveling suspension could be rebuilt if you are going to be using the 2 rear seats. 4. The A/C and cruise control do not work. 5. Rear passenger window does not work, I have the new part. 6. Rear passenger tail light should be replaced.
The car is registered in Alberta, Canada.
You are welcome to make an offer on the car but know that lowball offers will not be responded to and I am not in a hurry to sell the car. The car is also listed in the USA where people know the value of this car, so if you want it you better act fast.
