1968 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Base Description

1968 Mercedes 220 - 8 . W 115 .4 Cyl 2 Carb . Manual Floor 4 speed .
Title clear and registered as a classic .Front plate is not the same as the rear .
Not a very common W 115 if you search around .This car runs excellent . Disc Brake, 4 speed floor, fog lights . Console with A.M. Radio .
Engine does not burn or consume oil much oil . Level on dipstickstays steady .Little leaking .If it sits 2 weeks it will smoke on start . Good compression .Runs strong & can be driven a good distance .
I did a few things :Replaced ignition switchAsh tray Maroon from a 1969 W 115
Replaced Starter newReplaced Alternator newReplaced tires - used - goodReplaced distributor - newAll ignition - Plugs + points .
Radio from a 1969 W 115Shifter from a 1969 W 115 (Have orig as well) .
Car runs drives and stops excellent . It would not be a bad idea for a Carb rebuild . But onlya light twitch occasional idle . Performance excellent . Solid and smooth runner . There is rust in thelower quarters and lower fenders . No rust in trunk . Car has been repainted orig color one time .All original carpets but the L/Rear is torn . L/F is worn but there . The interior courtesy lamps are gone . I have the originals which are damaged . Windshield is a 70's PPG Solex replacement . No chips or damage . Tail light lenses are good . All lights work . For lights wor, but I believe they are not wire per stock . Heatervalves are stuc, Radio is untested and not hooked up . Lighter does not work . Gauges all work .

Has a partial original tool ki, Jack and spare . I have a good front seat and complete extra rearseat . Tex Mex in Tan colo, extra carb, and misc spare parts .

The pictures show the car looking better than actual . But that's pretty normal .
I don't think the car was ever wrecked . I don't know the mileage . But I've owned over 30+
vintage car, and only do my own work . This car is very strong . This car could be driven adecent distance without problem . Never had a problem with over heatin, starting or
performance driving longer distances .
