1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 560SL Description

Rare Hamptons survivor with almost all original paint (one door was replaced after a parking lot dent) and very rare and expensive kinder seat and seat belts to make this a four seater.
Began its life in Annapolis Maryland before spending most of its years in Sarasota, Florida. Brought to the Hamptons as a summer car by the present owner. Pioneer CD with aux plug for phone that allows music to be played from a Smart Phone. Vastly superior to the tinny Becker cassette that came with the car. (Everybody seems to agree as most 560SLs have updated stereos.) Newer underdash speakers provide state of the art sound, befitting a car of this stature.
Pampered and driven sparingly in good weather only. New soft top with crystal clear windows and no folding marks of any kind. Thousands in receipts from maintenance and minor repairs. Current owner overhauled the front end to make it crisp in all areas of handling. Drives like a new car. Transmission shifts smoothly with none of the "shudder" that plagues attention-needing SLs. No clunk into reverse, for example. Tires are recent, brakes, fluids and all necessary maintenance up to date. A/C requires a charge to blow cold, but all HVAC otherwise operating flawlessly.
Though I doubt they have ever been turned on, the car has the rare heated seats option. Nice on a brisk autumn night before putting the car away for the winter.
Hard top included.
Dash is smooth and crack free. Center console wood is shiny and crack free, a common trouble area.
The drivers seat has the customary wear to the back bolster, otherwise the leather is crack free and shows nicely. (Soft and supple not rock hard from sun and over applications of leather products.) Proper care is evident throughout the car.
Recent New York inspection passed effortlessly. For those not aware, the NY inspection is a tough one. measuring tread, brake pad life and emissions.
Car is rust free, owing to its extended life in southern climates. Paint meter backs up originality.
Tight, right and ready for a new home. Ask any questions, test drive if you are in the vicinity or send a third party to examine at any time. Or can be taken to the local Southampton Mercedes Benz dealer for an independent inspection and assessment at the buyer's expense.
All photographs shown were taken in Florida, but the car is currently in Bridgehampton, New York. Fly in, drive home with no issues.
A note about my feedback: I am a long time Ebay seller who has sold 6 cars on Ebay with no repercussions. I also trade in vintage watches. A watch buyer who Ebay warned me was likely a scammer has posted my one negative comment. He had two foreign addresses and Ebay advised not to send the watch. I immediately refunded his money but he was not happy and hence the one scar. Thanks for your interest.
