European Motor Studio is very proud to offer this unbelievable find. This single owner 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster has covered only 9,230 miles from new. After leaving the Stuttgart factory in October of 1986, this 560SL was then sent to Bob Neill INC in Winston-Salem North Carolina where it sold new to its first and only owner on November 24, 1986 in the amount of $53,800. The car remained with the first owner until now sitting in 100% original untouched...condition right down to the original Pirelli P4's. The paint is just about perfect with one small stone chip above the driver headlight and one small scratch right behind the passenger side where the hardtop meets the body of the car. The paint finish is exquisite and looks as if it rolled off the showroom floor in 1986. The body is as it left the factory and completely free from any rust on the body or the undercarriage. All of the exterior chrome is just about new and completely unmarked with no scratches, hazing or pitting. All of the rubber trim looks practically new. All of the glass is original and unmarked with the original Mercedes-Benz sticker. The hardtop looks brand new as does the soft top and window. The internal mechanisms of the soft tops look just about brand new and still retain their original factory markings and all of the bolts are still zinc plated showing no signs of being touched. The Burgundy leather interior is showroom new with only two lite creases on the driver seat. The leather is very soft to the touch which is not common to see on most Mercedes of this age. The passenger seat looks new as does the center console and wood. The dash top is perfect with no markings or cracks. All of the instrumentation is vibrant orange and white unlike most that have faded out to yellow. The sun visors are still in perfect condition with no cracking or fit issues and even the original rubber washers on the hardtop/softop holes are all still intact. The original Becker radio is still intact and does light up when the headlights are turned on but it does not emit sound. The 5.6 liter V8 has just undergone a service including the fluids, filters and plugs. The engine starts right up and does not smoke under start up or acceleration. The engine pulls beautifully and the transmission shifts precisely as it should. The steering is incredibly tight and the suspension very smooth and tight which is uncommon to find in a R107. The brakes have an excellent solid feel free from any fade or noise. The tires are the original tires from 1986 and although still look excellent and do not show any crack they are hard and you can feel they are out of balance. Great for the collector to have them or would be easy to replace. All of the electronics are operating on the car as designed including the original power antenna, power windows, power mirror, door locks and all interior and exterior lights (Becker radio lights up but does not emit sound). This is an outstanding and rare opportunity to acquire a single owner R107 SL that is as close to factory new as you can get. The undercarriage still retains original factory markings and original factory MB stickers on parts. Many of the original bolts and parts still have their original zinc plating. Accompanying the sale of this exceptional SL are all of the original factory books including the original protecto plate, pre-delivery inspection sheet, original sales invoice, registration paperwork and inspection reports from ownership. All four original keys including the valet key and leather pouch are all present. A clean Carfax is also present.
