Private party sale of a very good condition Used 29,138 very low mileage one-owner red 1990 Mercedes Benz 500 SL. 322-hp 32 valve V-8. This R129 chassis vehicle was purchased new in June 1990 and has remained with the original owner in Southern California ever since. Always covered while inside a garage, this dealer maintained vehicle includes the factory hardtop, original books, keys, window sticker, tools, first aid kit, etc. The vehicle was manufactured with the contrasting color lower body cladding. After purchase the cladding was immediately painted Mercedes Benz signal red to match the car.Vehicle paint is in very good condition.
The tires are in very good condition however they will need to be replaced as they were installed in December 2002 at 23,386 miles. Radio works but has static. A/C has small leak but with a charge will blow cold. Seats show some minor wear on outside bolsters. Dash and wood veneers are in excellent condition. No discoloration or cracks. Factory hardtop is in excellent condition and has new headliner. Convertible black soft top is in excellent condition with clear (not discolored or clouded) rear window. One hydraulic cylinder used in soft top automatic operation mode and located near the passenger side rear wheel area has leaked and prevents the use of the automatic feature. The manual operation/ use of the soft top is in excellent working condition.
Overall, this one-owner 1990 Mercedes Benz 500 SL with 29,138 miles is in great condition and is a blast to drive. Sparingly used in recent years, it needs a new home. Local area pickup preferred. Please review the many photos.
