1983 Mercedez 300SD
1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series SD Description
The 1983 Mercedez 300SD is still one of the safest cars on the road. Not because it has a ton of safety features, but because it's so strong and heavy that any other car will crush like a soda can on impact with it.
I have replaced the front ball joints, both upper and lower, repaired the sun roof, replaced the shocks, both front and rear, replaced the instrument cluster, replaced clutches and spring ring in the transmission, replaced the radiator, reinstalled the original fan and shroud assemblies, replaced the electric fan and cold air intake filter that a previous owner had installed, bought a used air conditioner compressor and new refrigerant kit and a new started, battery and tires. I also replaced the brake pads, which are still in good shape.
This is a great car. Keep the oil and filters changed and she'll probably go another 350,000 miles without so much as a tuneup.
