1988 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 560SL Description

1988 Mercedes 560SL. This was the next to the last year of this R-107 body style. The 560 had the big 5.5 Liter V-8 that the Europeans could not have. 227 HP. the car will pin you to the seat. Unbelievable torque. 74,000 miles. 3rd owner. Original equipment except the soft top which was replaced last year with original German fabrics. Garage kept under cover. Loads of maintenance files. Excellent condition. Very sought-after black on black with Palomino interior. The car is absolutely beautiful and runs perfect. The original radio does not work. It can be repaired by Becker Electronics for under $150.00. I did not want to change the original radio out. The cruise control needs a new module under the dash. Easily found for $100.00, but a pain to get under the dash to plug it in. Tires are 80% tread. Wheels were just refinished. No leaks or rattles. All fluids, brakes, oil, antifreeze, fuel pump filters were recently flushed or replaced.

The last photos shows chrome spats over the wheel wells. I removed them several years ago. There are no scratches from them being present. I thought they detracted from the car.Keep them original!

It's a fun car to drive.

Other than these two things the car is 100%.
