Clean 1988 Mercedes 560SL Roadster 2 Tops Runs Great!
1988 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 560SL Description
1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL
Hello and thank you for your interest. Up for sale is our family's 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL roadster. Originally a California car, it was sold new at Laguna Niguel Mercedes until being shipped out here. It isn't getting much use lately so we've decided to sell. The car comes with both original hard and soft tops, and in excellent condition. The car is driving ready and in very solid condition. No rust issues to be seen on the body. Being a 31 year old car some imperfections are to be expected. This Mercedes has about 185k miles on the odometer, but really feels like a car with half that. These cars were very well built, at the cost of over $60,000 new in 1988. Needless to say they have stood the test of time, and with proper care will last decades more. The paint is very shiny and also in good condition. No major dents on the body or rust bubbles. The interior is in very good condition for its age, no rips or tears in the seats. The dash does have a replacement cover. Some cracks underneath. The lower wooden panel on the center console has cracks in the varnish. The engine is very strong and smooth, doesn't smoke or leave any oil marks. The transmission shifts properly. The brakes are in good working order, drives true and straight. The A/C was retrofitted to use R134 back in 2003, works but could use a recharge. Comes with all original owner's manuals and original tool kit, even the original unused first aid kit! The radio is aftermarket. We have just installed 4 brand new tires to ensure the car is road worthy for its new owner. This car would make any driver proud, we always get complimented whenever we take it out. Do keep in mind it is a 30+ year old vehicle and though very solid, some quirks to be expected... as with any old car. A very modest reserve has been set. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Thank you and good luck on your bidding!
Shipping is the responsibility and charge of the buyer but I can assist in helping you find a shipping company if needed. Shipping to the west coast is quick and easy via PASHA, to the port of Los Angeles or other is around $920.00 and takes about two weeks. I will personally deliver the car to the port at the new owner's request.
