The W121 chassis or 190 SL that was built from 1955 until 1963 was based off the 300 SL model, however it was sold and marketed as the more affordable alternative. They shared some characteristics such as the suspension and frame and some of the styling however everything was just a little smaller. The car was offered in either a soft-top convertible or with a removable hardtop. This particular 190 has quite the history being offered with extremely low ownership... history. The original owner and her husband bought the car in Germany in 1958 and when they moved to the US imported the car with them. During that time here in the states the SL saw many great adventures of touring the country. The car made its way to Northern Michigan quite a few years back and at that time received a paint job from black to silver. The car came with a factory hard top, which remains with the car. It also has a very nice soft top that fits and functions quite nicely. The interior is 100% stock and original showing some wear but still very presentable. This spectacular 190 has always been meticulously maintained making this a excellent driver quality automobile. The car starts, runs, shifts and brakes very nicely with everything in working order. Last year at this time, we had the pleasure of listing the car for sale for the original owners and that time the car sold to a local gentleman, unfortunately the car remained here in storage until now and at this time he wishes to sell. These 190 SL automobiles have been climbing in value and the history alone makes this car worth every bit the asking price. The car comes with a few original parts that have been replaced over the years, owners manual and service manuals.
