Black 1973 Mercedes Benz 280
1973 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Description
For sale is my 1973 Mercedes Benz 280 (Automatic). I bought this beauty in 2014 as my second car for weekend and leisure drives and I had grand plans for it (fully restore the exterior and interior), but life calls and now I need the money. Also, I feel this car would be better in the hands of someone who has the time and money to give it some TLC. I have all the maintenance records (current and from previous owner) for this vehicle. The speedometer shows 18104 miles (back then, it only went to 5 digits) but the actual mileage is around 140,000+ miles. The car drives great but to be honest, I didn't get to drive it much. Though even when I didn't drive it, I would start it every weekend, let it warm up and do a lap around my neighborhood. The equipment inside is STOCK and original, which I love because there's no cheesy replacement head unit, however, the radio is finnicky and seems to pick up only one or two AM stations in my area when it does work. The blower does works and there's no A/C but it didn't bother me so I never got it looked at. Clock doesn't work, also needs a new gas pedal (was missing when I bought it) but I never got around to it and I never noticed it wasn't there (you just put your foot on the bar to accelerate) so I also never bothered to pick one up. The rear floor panels rusted through a bit (some rocker panel and left fender rot when I bought it) but I laid down some weldable galvanized steel sheet metal. It just needs to be welded (I never got around to welding it myself). Keep in mind that this car is in great shape for a 43 year old car. Comes with a full-sized Mercedes Benz spare tire with the black Benz hubcap, and recent work includes new battery, new alternator, and new brake calipers. Sale will be final and as is.
