1985 Mercedes Benz E320 Cabriolet
1985 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible Description
You are bidding on a 1985 Mercedes Benz E320 Cabriolet.
She has reasonable miles @ 92,400. She runs perfectly. Here is a list of upgrades that I've made during my ownership:
Slotted calipers and new brakesRestored the interiorShow quality paint - dark green (original) - one of the nicest paint jobs you'll encounter (we've restored cars and have appeared at every major car show, including Pebble Beach). You won't find a nicer E320 in terms of body condition. Completely rust free - never in an accident. There was fading of the original paint, hence the bare metal respray (pics available). No error codesNew front grilleGets 25 mpgSmooth as silk
New darkened taillights - looks better than originals
Please note: I replaced the automatic top computer module, but the automatic top is not working. However, I've manually put it up and down (easy to do). I have another E320 (40,000, miles) and am keeping her, so this one goes, but the pistons are newly rebuilt so the expensive repairs are done - I just can't figure out the final step to get it to work. Regardless, like my 1996 Corvette, the manual operation is fine.
There is an aftermarket stereo with USB support (to play and charge your phone). New speakers throughout - sounds great - also has a subwoofer (factory)
Due to the issue with the top my reserve price is low. Bid to own. These cars are rare and is a great investment. 1995 was the last year - and these cars were $80,000 in 1985 !! Holy Cow.
Truly a breathtaking car. The paint is beautiful - again show quality. Take a look at the reflections in the pictures. So, if you are handy mechanically, this is a great car for you. If you live in the South, with sunny climate, she is perfect, drive her with the top down - like I did in the summer here (Chicago).
I drive this car often, so the miles will go up slightly. 100% dependable. A classic and sure to appreciate in value.
She is sold as-is, where is - due to her age. I ask for a non refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of the auctions close. Full payment vis Paypal, wire or cash within 72 hours. I cannot store this car so pickup needs to prompt.
Inspections are encouraged and recommended. She is not a new car - though she looks new, so expect minor flaws (the console lid is broken, as an example). I can take more pics, she is accident free and rust free. A west coast car originally I think.
Good luck
