Information about the car that I've gathered since I have owned it.
Chassis #: 108.068-12-005191 (5191 out of 13,527produced)
Model: 280SE 4.5
Engine: M117 V8, Serial #117.984-12-005148 (numbers matching car)
Build Date: 9/71
Mileage: 134,729 (odometer unfortunately doesn’t work and stopped working very recently. I have only put on no more than 100 miles on it since all of the maintenance below. Just like all of these cars due to the 5 digit odometer is it impossible to tell true mileage but the condition of these speaks to themselves rather than the miles on the odometer.)
Title: Clean and clear Washington State title in my name, ready to sign over to the new buyer
Options:
Exterior Color: 670 H Light Ivory (H = Herbets is the original paint manufacturer. Car has been repainted once but it is the original color)
Interior Color: 140 Cognac MB-Tex
589- Air Conditioner/Electric Windows
246- Heated Rear Glass
420- Automatic Transmission/ Floor Shift
466- Central Locking
491- USA Version
515- Becker Radio
Condition:
-Car start up every time and runs and drives very well.
-All lights work and even the vacuum door lock system works.
-All power windows work.
-I have included new rubber front and rear windshield seals for new owner for replace if you wish. To clarify the seals do not leak now but they are old. The windshield does have a few scratches from some worn out wiper blades.
-A/C will need to be recharged and does it appear to have ever been tampered with and I did replace the AC compressor belt.
-Radio does not work as I purchased the car with an aftermarket radio although the original Becker is included.
-Dash cap does have cracks.
-Car includes original data card, maintenance card and original manuals.
-Car has solid floor pans, rockers and wheel wells.
-All chrome trim is complete with no pitting or rust.
-Car has been repainted and is fairly good but it is not perfect. No dents or scratches but does have some paint chips here and there as regular wear and tear due to age (please see photos).
-The one maintenance item that the car will need is a wheel alignment.
Overall the car is a great drivers car and will be great for years to come with all of the maintenance that was done.
Recent maintenance: have a folder of receipts foreverything and this folder will be mailed to the buyer along with the title. Parts and labor for all of the below maintenance is nearly $5000. I did not cut corners for preventative maintenance as my goal was to have this be a turn key car that the next buyer can enjoy.
