1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Roadster 68k Miles Survivor Car- Zero Rust
1976 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Description
1976 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL Roadster, finished in Astral Silver Metallic, over upholstery code 202 blue leather. Included with this vehicle are the original owners manuals, service records, spare tire, and tool kit. This vehicle has stood the test of time, remaining mostly unrestored and unmolested, aside from one repaint (the factory hardtop retains its originalpaint), and an updated stereo system. This car remains very original and highly presentable at the higher end of a driver quality car. The car has spent much of its life in storage and due to this fact was completely gone over mechanically with the work beginning in 2004 and ending in 2009. The maintenance performed on this vehicle was completed using parts sourced through Mercedes-Benz of Westwood MA exclusively. A massive amount was spent on parts alone and a detailed log of receipts are included. The car starts at the first turn of the key every time. It runs and drives as it had when new, and is perfectly comfortable driving in town, on the highway, and for long distances. In 2012, the car was backed into in a parking lot. The paint received damage above the passenger side tail lamp, and would require minimal work to repair. The vehicle was immediately put into climate controlled storage, where it remained until a few weeks ago. This vehicle has no rust whatsoever, and never has. The exterior body panels, as well as the undercarriage and door jams, have no signs of corrosion. The doors, trunk, and bonnet close effortlessly, as you would expect with a Mercedes-Benz. The bonnet was removed when the vehicle underwent its extensive maintenance, and needs to be slightly adjusted vertically to correct the gap seen in the photos. The interior remains in highly presentable condition with its only flaws being a small tear on the passenger side seat cushion, and two small cracks in the dashboard, which are far less apparent than the vast majority of what is typically found in an unrestored R107 Mercedes-Benz. I cannot stress enough how well this vehicle performs as it was originally intended, it handles and feels as if it were brand new. This is a car you can truely enjoy, whether it be on your daily commute or cruising around with the top down on the weekends, it presents very well on the road and commands attention. In the last few years these cars have skyrocketed in value, and will only continue to appreciate in the future. I am more than happy to answer any further questions for serious bidders, whether it be through private message or on the telephone.
