I picked this car up on Ebay in sping of 2010 brought it to Ohio at the time I was working out of house in 2010 and rarely drove anywhere plus I also had a second car. I bought the Benz from the 2nd owner who had it in Montevallo Alabama since 199, before that the 1st owner had the car in Nashville Tennessee. Car was serviced by Mercedes and was driven regular until AC stopped working and parked in late 2000's. The body on this is very very solid with the exception of the drivers door inside has corrosion hole. The paint is pretty faded on the hood roof and now truck. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MECHANICS HOW AMAZINGLY SOLID THE CAR IS AND UNDERNEATH THERE IS STILL ALABAMA RED MUD. ! See pics. over the years some of the repairs that I made include I replaced both headlight plastic outer clear housings on both headlights with OEM new old stock replacements rite when I brought it home in 2010. I also picked up dashboard liner as the dash has some typical cracks from the sun. replacing starter motor 2 times. It is now heavy duty aftermarket. did that in about 2012. I replaced the transmission cooler lines in 2011 . I replaced the o-rings inside the fuel pump in 2012 and replaced the brushes in the Alternator in 2012.. New battery 2013. charging it up now. I put new little wipers on the headleads in 2013. In 2013 I got a new job and started driving the car more often and used it for one full year driving about 500 miles per week year round . Once I started regular driving I had the car gone over by Gerber Automotive in Cleveland Ohio. A certified Mercedes Benz mechanic. He replaced fuel filters, verified that the glow plugs were working correctly. Inspected the whole car for safety. He also replaced sub frame bushings in the front. A steering rod and ball joints. Misc font end parts. He replaced rear tires. Fronts where brand new when I got the car. Gerber also tried to get the HVAC working for heat replaced couple heater related parts. He did not try to fix AC. He replaced the blower with a used one I provided and it went out again shortly before I stopped driving it. All and all i spent over $2000.00 with Gerber and really drove the car for just about 6 months strait. This Mercedes survived driving the winter of 2013 and started every single time even in Sub-Zero. I would use the built in block heater and give a 1 1/2 hours preheat for super low temps but did even get it going without the block heater in sub-zero. Anyways I loved the car and I drove it at 105 mph on a highway stretch every single day with hands off the wheel. Don't tell anybody. Sadly I purchased a new vehicle in June 2014 and the Mercedes starting sitting. I stopped driving it all together September 2015,
Sadly the sunroof got jammed and is cocked slightly but I'm sure fixable. Most likely there are acorns or something that took it off track. Some moisture has gotten in and worsened the passenger seat which needs a new hyde. Drivers seat as well. Seats motors do work but drivers seat does blow fuse. Your going to want to get the blower fixed again as now working but heat still comes up from floor if your moving. The brakes have a newer master cylinder installed by Mercedes year before I got it. The front brakes pads and calipers will need replacement. This is about as solid as your going to get for a fixer upper. There are $1000.00's of dollars in parts on this thing. All body panels are really really nice. The Drivers Door has corrosion caused by previous owner leaving a mace container in the door storage compartment. It leaked out and cause the door to corrode in bottom part.
Motor runs great TURBO WORKS and have been told by mechanics that it is low mileage and can tell by the sound. Does have small oil drip near top valve cover gasket. All windows work. glass all good.
This cars Odometer is stuck at about the 157000 miles mark. Stopped working when I started using the trip meter rite when i got it I AM ESTIMATING CAR STILL HAS ABOUT 200K OR LESS. Tachometer does not work either. I was planning on having Gerber rebuild the odometer and fix the Tach but did not get done.
FOR PICTURES I JUST WASHED THE CAR AND VACUUMED. YOU CAN SEE ACTUAL CONDITION WITH NOTHING TO HIDE. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING CAR UP AND DOWN THE BLOCK BRAKES ARE NOT SEIZED BUT FOR SURE YOU WILL NEED TO FIX EVENTUALLY. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS.
