1981 Mercedes-Benz Other 380 SLC Description

RARE CLASSIC LUXURY SPORTSCAR in excellent condition!
Hand Made! Only 1500 built. Always GARAGE KEPT under cover. Fair weather/non-smoker car.Original cost was over $46,000 (in 1980 dollars).
I am the 4th owner. I know all previous owners. All owners took excellent care of this car.They were retired USMC/USN retired aviators except original owner who was a millionaire who ordered it from Germany.
Tight, quiet and a real pleasure to drive. (I owned a 1962 356 Porsche T6 Cabriolet for 20 yrs. (this is way more powerful and corners better.)) MECHANICALLY SOUND. LOADED: including leather, FLAWLESS WOOD AND DASH, factory security systems, electric sun roof, chrome factory wheels (including spare tire). Factory CB/AM-FM radio/cassette deck. EURO head/tail lights. Back seat can comfortably accommodate 2 adults or three kids.
All original. Metallic brown color (stock) with subtle hand painted 2-tone pin lines. Lots of nice chrome. Must see to appreciate.
CONDITION:
Car is in EXCELLENT CONDITION overall!
Car was meticulously repainted at Registers (Wilmington, NC) 12 years ago; Paint looks better than most new cars. Replaced windshield and all rubber seals for back window/windshield during repaint process. Hood was stripped down to bare metal.
Well maintained vehicle. All repairs made with top quality parts. New rebuilt transmission and bushings, etc... (numbers matching). New environmental system components. AC recently converted to R34. Timing chain replaced. Like new Michelin tires, alternator, front wheel bearings, fan belts, and engine idle control relay. New steering linkage coupling, fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, brakes, all dashboard lights and gauges (including economy gage) work. Lots more... Have original owner's manual, etc...
Odometer indicates 180,000 miles (ave. about 5,400mi. per year). Low mileage for a 35 year old car;
Original Becker Radio works great; professionally refurbished March 2013. Have original manual.
Interior is excellent overall. Has 1 small quarter-sized worn area on side of lumbar support on driver's seat. Center armrest is excellent on one side and worn (no tears/holes) appropriate with age on the other side. I've enjoyed this car since 2001.
