Mercedes 300td Turbo Diesel Wagon
1987 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Description
This is a 1987 Turbo Diesel Wagon. This car has been in our family for a couple years now and since it doesn't get much use now it is time to move it on. It has just over 200,000 miles on it. The engines in these cars had cylinder heads with weak castings that were liable to crack, and this one has had the cylinder head replaced with a more reliable head from a later year engine. The hydraulic SLS rear suspension had worn out and has been converted to adjustable air struts for better reliability. The interior is in very nice shape with no rips in the seats or upholstery. However, there are some cracks on the dashboard and the wood trim is also cracking. The exterior is also very nice with no scratches in the paint and no signs of rust. I recently installed a new battery and have been doing regular oil changes and air filter changes on it. Being a diesel it gets great gas mileage. Although it is'n the fastest car in the world, it is smooth driving and very practical. I hate to see it leave, but priorities have gotten the best of me. If you have any questions let me know!
