This is an extremely original two-owner California car. The car was sold new by the Lloyd Pearson dealership in Pasadena, California. It still maintains the original paint (no, has not been repainted!), the ivory color (670H) with the original Cognac MB-tex interior.
The car has 88,000 original miles (remember, CA miles have the impact of a fraction of the miles from most anywhere else). The soft top is also original from 1969 and it is in excellent condition as is its clear plastic window.
A valve job was performed due to the age of the car and the engine was cleaned up and detailed to new factory specifications using original hose clamps from 1969.
There are absolutely no cracks on the dash and wood has not been touched since new. The trunk floor is perfect and original, never having been retouched or repainted. It also has the original tool bag in its plastic bag from when it was new as well.
We of course have kept both front and rear original black plates in perfect condition.
Most buyers and collectors to this day are uneducated as they don't realize yet how hard it is to find an original untouched car of the late 60's and early 70's. Many buyers are concerned about price and the flashy looks of their newly restored investment, rather than the strong value of an investment in a high level "preservation" car. However, they are starting to catch on fast, which is going to make them even more scarce.
Remember the words "It is original only once".
