1980 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U1300 Description

1980 Mercedes Benz Unimog U 1300 in excellent running and driving condition. Body is very clean and rust free expect for one small rust patch on passenger fender. Bed sides are in good condition as is the bed floor. New continental MPT 81 tires.Interior is in good condition as it came from the military. All lights and switches work as designed.Now for the fun part. The engine has been swapped out with a Ca legal om 366 la engine with 230 hp. We added the inter cooler kit from Adkinson Voss. If you have driven a stock non turbo or even a newer turbo and drive this one it will put a big smile on your face. It pulls through all the gears like a newer diesel truck. The engine was professionally installed by a well known Unimog mechanic. Engine came from expedition imports and it had less than 50k miles. These motors are capable of going over 750k miles. All belts, fluids and filters are new.The axles are standard axles so speed is limited to 55 mph or less but it comes with new ring and pinions that will give the truck a 75mph or higher top speed and the engine is very capable of getting and maintaining those speeds. The 8 speed manual transmission shifts as it should and clutch was in excellent shape when the motor was installed. I still have the original engine that is a non turbo om352 that runs perfect. It can be sold separate if you are interested.The only reason I am selling it is because I recently purchased a crew cab 4x4 iveco and am building an expedition off road camper. That was my original plan for this truck but I need the extra space for kids.Comes with current california title and registration.
