1968 Mercury Monterey Description

1968 Mercury Parklane/Monterey 390-4BBL C-6 4 door hardtop with working AC
The car is being relisted because the buyer was never able to pick up the car and complete the transaction, bid if you are able to complete the transaction and have positive Ebay feedback.
Car has a good title and comes withe the build sheet and factory shop manuals as well as the owners manual

Mechanically, the car is redone. 3,700 miles on rebuilt engine and transmission. All parts are Ford or Motorcraft, no cheap Pep boys parts, rebuild includes: fuel pump, water pump, master cylinder, new brake and fuel lines, double roller timing chain, dual exhaust, new Firestone tires last year. You can drive this car anywhere, with working AC. No vibration at speed.
What the car needs is a repaint and it comes with an NOS (new old stock) quarter panel to replace the one that has bondo in it. Car comes with vinyl top trim and many spare parts from many eBay buys and salvage yard visits.
The hard top version (no post between front and rear doors) of this car is the harder one to find, the 4 door sedan was more common.
I drive this car in the summer and it works well, so why am I selling it? I am downsizing to make room for other projects. I have had this car for many years and I hate to get rid of it.
Due to many questions about this car, here are some more details. For the engine rebuild, it included the usual items like rings, bearings, and seals. In addition to that, it got a new cam and lifters, an Edelbrock intake to save weight but it is painted engine color to look stock, the factory carb is on top, double roller chain, Motorcraft fuel pump, water pump and starter (all Motorcraft).Replacing the alternator this week so everything is fresh. The engine and exhaust are nice and quiet so you won't scare the neighbors. Has a nice low rumble at idle.
I have the missing reverse light, the wire needs to be soldered back on. What needs to be done: #1 is paint, horns need to be reinstalled, wiper motor needs to be reinstalled, heater core had been replaced with new Autolite hoses, I never hooked them to the engine since I never drive the car in the winter.
The car comes with numerous parts such as the emblems, vinyl top trim including the stainless steel for the rain gutters, better AC vents, the AM/FM radio tuner needs to be cleaned, most of the time I just get static. Comes with a Ford AM radio that works.
Car has had Mobil 1 since rebuild, Motorcraft type F used in the trans + power steering pump.
Could use a new neutral safety switch, which was typical on these. These switches are listed on eBay.
Has four new Firestone tires
This is a no reserve aucfion
