1969 Mercury Cougar, 351 W-4 barrel, automatic, California-rust free
1969 Mercury Cougar Description
1969 Mercury Cougar 351W – 4 barrel FMX Automatic Factory A/C Tilt/tilt away wheel Power Windows Rust free car, originally from California and remained there until 1998. Car was sold to an owner in Michigan and then to New York in 1999. • 351W 4 barrel with a FMX automatic. The car runs, drives and performs well. The engine does not make any noise, leak or burn oil. The transmission shifts smoothly. Stock Ford intake, Holley 600cfm w/vacuum secondary’s, factory exhaust manifolds with a dual exhaust system and turbo mufflers for a light rumble. Hideaway headlights work great. All Power Windows work. White interior was totally redone 1999 and looks super nice. Repainted in 1999 after a complete strip to bare metal. Comes with a pint can of the paint, great for touchups and having the correct paint code.Since the interior and paint work there are about 2,000 miles on the Cougar. Original tilt, tilt away wheel (works fine), original A/C car. Everything is there for the A/c but needs a charge. Never recharged it after the paint job. Folder with tons or receipts and owner history going back to the early 80’s. This is great to have for a classic car. Tires have about 1,000 miles on them with Cragar SS rimsPhotos of the undercarriage and shock towers show that all the metal is original and rust free. New Battery 9/16.The paint looks great with little or no orange peel, no runs and only two minor chips that were brush touched. I would give the paint an 8 out of 10. Video of the car is on YouTube under - 1969 Cougar September 2016. Shot with an iPhone and the exhaust sounds loud. It has a nice sound but the phone quality makes it sounds louder than it really is. o The good: Nice solid correct car that is ready for cruising or car shows, Really needs nothing other than a good detailing, o Flaws: Few and far between, Vinyl top looks good but is a bit dirty, I’m sure it just needs a real good cleaning,The engine could use some detailing, Sail panels (from headliner to rear package tray) needs to be re-glued. They are a bit loose. o I try to describe things as accurately as possible. Feel free to ask any questions, request more pictures, etc…..Selling several of my Mustangs and Cougars since I do not have enough time to drive them.
