1969 Mercury Monterey Convertible Description

Garage find... 1969 Mercury Monterey convertible. This is 1of only 1,297 convertibles built in 1969, only has 59,143 miles on it and is completely loaded with Air Conditioning, Power steering, Power disk brakes, Power windows, Power door locks, 6 way Power seat and a Power convertible top. It's been sitting for quite some time but it's all original and complete. The interior is in Great shape and the top was recently replaced and has the old parade boot plus a brand new one. The power top works perfectly as do the front power windows and the power seat. All the switches could use to be checked and everything needs fresh grease as the windows are slow going up and down. The car rolls and stops and the motor turns over freely. Oil is clean and so is the anti freeze but I'm sure the gas tank will need to be cleaned before starting it. The floors and frame are clean and solid. The rear quarter panels need to be replaced, the trunk is pretty solid but could use a couple of small patches about the size of a post it. The rockers, fenders, inner fenders, hood and trunk lid are good and both doors are workable. The passenger door had some plastic work done to it years ago that will need attention but it wasn't from rust, a dent or scrape I guess. It is originally white and was repainted with a different white years ago also.Overall this car is a Fantastic original convertible that is just going to need some love. I'm listing it before I get into it because I just have too many projects right now. I have a very modest reserve set and I'm willing to answer any questions you may have or show it if you can drive here. If it doesn't sell now I will get it running and do some repairs and put it back up for sale in the spring. So good Luck and happy bidding on a bargain winter project. Thanks for looking!
