Up for your consideration is a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente convertible. There was just a little over 9000 produced in 1964 so it is fairly rare. It is 90% complete missing the radio surround, left rear quarter trim, lower drivers door trim, the trunk lid trim strip and trunk lock. I purchase it for a parts car for my other Comet but it is in to nice of condition. I will be parting it out if it does not sell since I have to may fires in the oven. I believe everything else is on the car with a radio in the trunk. It has not been on the road since 1991 and is very solid underneath. The front and rear frame rails are in very good condition and not rotted out under the battery box. The torque boxes look very good as far as what I can see and not rotted out like others. Under the car it looks very good compared to other cars of that year. The passengers and drivers side between the front and rear seat has rusted through and is an easy fix. The side supports ae very solid where the floor meets them. I have a picture of the spots. I do not have a title for the car and it is sold as is. I DO HAVE THE STATEMENT OF FACTS TO APPLY FOR A TITLE FROM THE SELLER.The data door tag says that it is a 289, c4 and a 3.25 rear gear ratio and is in it's original color with bodywork done back in the day. The vin states that it is a 260 in the car. It will need a restoration with most of the hard parts to find still on the car. I have fired up the motor, installed a new coil, points, pugs, wires, dist. cap andgave it a oil change. It runs but rich and the new carb needs adjustment. It is in my garage hence the crappy pictures. car is sold as is with no title. If it does not sell I may part out. The car is sold as is and does not have a title. $500.00 deposit within 48 hours and paid in full within 7 days. I can hold the car for a week after the sale if need be. It does roll and the tires hold air to load on a trailer or transport truck. It does run but I have not driven it at this time.
