1979 Mercury Cougar Description

1979 Mercury Cougar sedan with 37k original miles. 302 CID V8, C4 trans, 9" rearend.
Car runs well. I have driven it on the highway and in the city for about 400 miles total since I bought it.
Only has a few mechanical issues. Horn, clock and windshield washer are inoperable. Steering is a little on the loose side. Rear right tire is borderline worn out.
It needs some body work. Original owner passed away and it sat in a garage for 15 years. The owner of the garage used a Bobcat to remove it from the garage causing damage to the front passenger door, rocker trim, both rear fender moldings, gas tank and scratches to the bumper.
Mice put some holes in the headliner, but the rest of the interior is complete and in goid shape.
Since Ive had it, I replaced the radiator, gas tank and sending unit, upgraded the original 14" wheels to 15"s, installed the clock, passenger side remote mirror, chrome pedal trim and recharged the AC.
Update. AC is blowing cool but not cold. I will add another cab of refrigerant but if that doesnt resolve the problem, I will leave it alone.

The aftermarket Craig tape deck works fine. Has the owners manual in the glove box Theres all the books and paperwork for a 77 also in the glove box. Even an order form to get Cougar jewerly.
Considering, in straight condition, a coupe with such low miles are selling for $3500- $5500, $2600 is a fair price, in my opinion.
For the miles and age, this car is in good shape. It runs well. Drives nice. Needs very little to go from a good car to a great car.
Also, besides my red 77 Cougar, I haven't seen a 4-door 77-79 Cougar in the Chicagoland area in a least ten years. The sedans are very rare. Heres your chance to own a prime specimen of one.
