1971 MERCURY COUGAR XR7 CONVERTIBLE
1971 Mercury Cougar Description
1971 XR7 COUGAR CONVERTIBLE.Awesomeproject that needs to be completed. NEW 351 Cleveland crate motor, rebuilt transmission, new exhaust, fuel tank, carburetor and interior. Painted about five years ago and sat unfinished. Came to me with another XR7,is was missing the interior, front bumper and grill, rear bumper and lots of little stuff. The motor/ trans was installed and never run, I got her going and just drove it maybe a mile at most. So it needs fine tuningbefore attempting any journeys.Needs tires, the lights looked at and the air needs charged or something. Most of the gauges work, the tact tries to work I think the wire to the coil is cut in half and the fuel gauge doesn't work. The top works fine but the radio doesn't, the rear seat armrest have holes cut in them for speakers. It has a nice white top that has (1) hole that can be patched from the underside. It was originally gold according to the VIN but shows signs of a blue paint where the top goes down. I have the front grill Cougar emblem and the rear quarter panel lights, thatneeds to be installed. I've only have this car since January and an selling with NO-RESERVE / AS ISso finish it up and enjoy a awesome convertible for summer.
