1950 Mercury Original California Car 2 Door Coupe Description

Hello Mercury Fans

Up for auction I have a Beautiful California 1950 Mercury 2 Door Coupe.

This Mercury has nice lines and the body is solid a true California car. The Factory rebuilt Flathead 8 cylinder engine is still under the hood. This Merc has a rebuilt standard 3 Speed Transmission with over drive ( 3 on the tree). This 1950 Merc runs and drives down the road smooth. The interior is in good shape as well. This car has 1 repaint job. My opinion I would rate the paint a 6 or 7 out of 10 and the interior is a 7 out of 10. All of the wiring has been updated to 12 volt.

The Steel wheels and hub caps are original, and original fender skirts. The suspension is all stock. The Points, Distributor Cap and condenser have been replaced. The front and rear wheel cylinders and front and rear brake shoes have been replaced.

The rear trunk lid lock was shaved and did not turn out very well in my opinion. You can see a flaw where the patch was welded in. There is a dent on the passenger side lower fender, a small ding on the rear by the gas filler lid and small rust bubble below the passenger side door. The SS trim is in fair condition there are some small dings in the stainless steel trim here and there. Also there are surface scratches on the top of the roof that can be buffed out in my opinion.

These old Mercury’s are getting harder to find in the condition this coupe is in. Please don’t let this one pass you by. Overall this is a solid great running smooth driving Merc. The New Owner will be very happy with this car.
