1983 Mercury LYNX RS Description

1983 MERCURY LYNX RS 5SP EFI Hatch Back . Very well preserved single owner car. The odometer shows 69,900 Kms (43K Miles) but is has only 5 digits and it is impossible to tell with absolute certainty. Judging by the condition of the car, I presume this is correct. This is a very rare one - based on the Ford Escort, it sold in small numbers. 90HP 1.6L motor. Very light - about 2000 lb, so the performance is quite good. No power options other than Power Brakes and Power Steering. A true survivor, I get thumbs up whenever I drive it. Very rare sunroof (removable), it has the factory pouch for it, so you can store it in the trunk. The paint in excellent condition, both sides appear to have been painted at some point, the roof, hood and hatchback have original paint. Interior is great as well. There are no cracks on the dash. There is some minor wear on the outside bolster on the drivers seat – please see pictures. Original AM-FM cassette Radio. This might be the cleanest, the best preserved Mercury Lynx RS in existence. Drives as it should. It can be driven anywhere. A true survivor.
